Abstract

Even though the nearly concomitant advent of the World Wide Web and of digital photography made the publication of videos readily accessible at low cost to the broad research community, the use of videos to illustrate advances in the chemical sciences has remained low. Aimed at further informing long-awaited education of chemistry faculty on mentoring doctoral students, this study uses selected videos from recent research articles to identify key require-ments to create and present effective videos to illus-trate advances in chemistry research articles.
