Abstract

Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for global cooperation are at the heart of the global climate change and environmental challenges we face today. NbS can cut across the root of other challenges such as biodiversity loss, development challenges, increased migration, conflict and growing health challenges. This session will present how Nature-based Solutions can be used from a wide range of case studies from across the Global South, from the rural to the urban context. These insights can be used to build the resilience of vulnerable groups and communities to climate risks, through transforming urban slums, equipping smallholder farmers to adapt and survive and protecting homes and business against climate shocks.
