Abstract

Herein, we report the first total synthesis of the conjugation-ready tetrasaccharide repeating unit of Pseudomonas aeruginosa O11 Lányi 170021. The installation of three consecutive 1,2-cis linkages is addressed here. The synthesis of the tetrasaccharide repeating unit of Pseudomonas aeruginosa O11 170021 (Lányi) is accomplished via the longest linear sequences of 22 steps in 3.2% overall yield using the efficient (2+2) strategy. The devolved (2+2) strategy will facilitate the synthesis of the structurally related tetrasaccharide RU of Pseudomonas aeruginosa O11 170040.
