Abstract

Lanthanide-based metal-organic frameworks (LnOFs) are attractive materials for photon upconversion (UC) applications but are rarely observed due to the large Ln…Ln distances by organic linkers. We proposed a new strategy via engineering multinuclear metal cluster-based MOFs (C-MOFs) to overcome this limitation. The cluster-based strategy establishes a new approach to design LnOFs with minimal impact from organic linkers and improved UC activity.
