N-N Bond Formation Through N-H Dehydrocoupling

Abstract

N-N bond formation from amines can be accomplished through proton/electron transfer using simple base and oxidant combinations, where kinetic limitations related to the BDFE(eff) of a particular base/oxidant pair can be overcome using Lewis acid catalysts such as FeCl3.
