Abstract

Novel homoleptic and heteroleptic cationic germylene-gold(I) complexes were synthesized through the insertion of dialkyl- and acyclic diamino- germylenes into Au-Cl bonds. Structural characterization and DFT calculations revealed the distinct π-back donation and dihedral angles, providing quantitative insights into the stability of germylene ligands in gold(I) complexes and expanding the boundaries of coordination chemistry.
