Photolysis of bis(catecholato)silicates

Abstract

We investigated chemical consequences of direct irradiation of alkyl bis(catecholato)silicates. We provide evidence for alkyl radical formation through EPR spin-trapping experiments, relative kinetics of radical formation, as well as direct observation of nitro group stabilized semiquinone radical.
