This content is a preprint and has not undergone peer review at the time of posting.

Abstract

The perspective reagent for introducing methyl thionoester function into organic molecules is proposed. The scalable procedure for the reagent production is elaborated. The simple synthetic sequence based on the reaction of magnesium organic compounds and the proposed reagent for synthesizing diverse thionoesters is recommended. The reasons for metal selection are explained. The potential of the reaction, its advantages, simplicity, convenience, and effectiveness are demonstrated and discussed.
