Abstract

A ligand and base free copper catalyzed synthetic methodology for the efficient alpha-arylation of aromatic ketones has been developed. The reaction of the ketone-derived silyl enol ethers with diaryliodonium salts led to the intermolecular C-C coupling displaying high functional group tolerance with a low catalyst loading.
