Abstract

We report, for the first time, a novel mechanistic tactic to directly modify the coordination sphere of Cu(II)–Aβ complexes in a metal binding residue-specific manner, which can prevent Cu(II) binding to Aβ, modulate the aggregation of Cu(II)–Aβ, and generate chemically transformed Aβ with less cytotoxicity, to the best of our knowledge.
